This is a great video on Youtube. It gives a concise explanation of what a blog is, for those of you new to this, as well as a history of how blogs came to be.  It’s very simplistic but pretty accurate.  The video uses a type of stop motion animation using paper cut-outs, similar to South Park. If you need to educate yourself quickly or have a friend who can’t seem to grasp what you do, show them this.
