This is going to be more advantageous for you if you are doing an online store, but if you want to have some fun with your blog, you can use this premium site design. You basically set up your site to look like a classified ads section of an online newspaper. I think it might be fun to have a site where each blog entry has a little classified ad look to it.

I’ve seen various ads on my web pages for work at home jobs similar to what this poor lady accepted. Beware the ads that say you can earn beacoup bucks doing simple work from home. some are legit, but some are not. What’s the answer? I believe the answer is to stick with what you know and what your friends know.

If you’re a Simpsons fan you’ve probably already watched this, but it’s good to see it again. James Lipton had the main cast of the Simpsons on his show to give the audience a chance to see the real faces behind the voices. Everyone on this stage is an accomplished artist in their own right, but together on the Simpsons, they have produced show after show for 20 years, and it doesn’t look as if they plan on stopping anytime soon. Enjoy!

For some, the standard text blog is not enough or the right format to begin with. These people have turned to video blogging. Video blogging to me is basically taking home movies and uploading them to either a YouTube channel or some other online forum. It gives the creator more direct control over the content and perception, but at the same time does not allow for refinement. If you let a verbal comment slip out, you either have to redo the whole vlog post or let the comment stay in or create an obvious edit. I’ll stick to my text blogging, thank you.

The social site Twitter is taking off in Japan as millions are “mumbling,” that’s the Japanes equivalent of tweeting. The service started up in 2008 and with the recent addition of mobile tweeting in Japan, it looks as if the trend is going to continue to increase. I think Twitter is actually a good tool for sharing little bursts of information that might not be right for a blog or Facebook post. For example, tweeting a link to an article on something you’re passionate about is a great way to utilize the site.

I decided to take a look at some free blog designs for WordPress and offer my opinion. The design in question comes from Bryan Veloso. First off, I like the darker background color. With so many pages having a light color, even offline programs like Microsoft Word, it’s nice to see something on the darker side. That being said, the greatest asset also is its greatest liability to me. With a monochrome color, there’s nothing to really demand your attention other than the hue. The layout is simple, which is a good thing. You can clearly see where the new content is and where the archives can be accessed. So, there is both positive and a little negative if you were to choose this particular theme.

If you’re looking to make some money writing on your blog, you may want to read this post by Arsene Hodali. He discusses the pitfalls of trying to do too much in terms of advertising on your blog for monetary purposes. He’s got some good insight, but he does have a very assertive style of writing. I’m not holding that against him, I’ve said before that people need to be themselves and that means being a little abrasive. Despite that, it’s still a thought-provoking read.

To prove that Librarians can be just as hip as the rest of us, this group put together a video to the music of Lady Gaga’s song “Poker Face.” This is not a mere Manilli Vanilli, they actually put together lyrics that actually focus on the library itself. This comes from MSN’s new comedy page.

Twitter is looking for someone to act as a bridge between lawmakers and their constituents. This person is going to be a liaison with the whole job description being to help the Federal government tweet more effectively. While that makes sense in theory, I think it would be easier for these Senators and Representatives to talk to their kids or grand kids. If they can’t get the information on how to tweet more effectively there, then a liaison is not going to help much.
