Jill Smokler presented a pretty concise list of the things to avoid adding to your blog if you want to attract a following of readers. Tops on her list was automatic music. I have never gone to a blog that played music automatically once I was on the site. I’ve been to regualr websites that did that, but not a blog. I agree that this is a sure way to turn people away. Even if it’s a music blog, forcing people to listen to music they may not enjoy just to see if you have something written will not keep people there for long.

I’m watching the JG Wentworth opera commercial, where people are on a stage singing about how they need cash and to call JG Wentworth now. While I don’t need money now and have no need to call, the commercial leaves an impression for its uniqueness. I can honestly tell you that I won’t forget the name any time soon. My point is that making a name for yourself in a unique fashion will help people remember your name in the future.

Continuing my thought from yesterday, I was wondering what the best type of internet service is best for streaming live music concerts. I know that dial-up, which I’ve heard some people still use, is not the way to go, but after that, there are a lot of choices. There’s DSL providers, cable internet, and satellite internet providers. Does anyone know which type is best and a good provider?
